Breed History
Established in the mid 1990’s, they were bred for personality, character, energy, drive, stamina, and stable temperament. The American Bully is a combination of the desired traits of the ancestry of the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier. This was achieved through years of selective breeding. The American Bully possesses the loyalty and stability of the American Pit Bull Terrier while retaining the sociable, amiable, and outgoing temperament of the American Staffordshire Terrier. This unique breed is noted for displaying extreme tolerance toward children and an overwhelming eagerness to please its family. Confident, yet not aggressive, this breed is all in all of a pleasant temperament. Physically, the American Bully has a graceful yet impressive, solid, defined, athletic build that is both muscular and toned, and denotes strength as well as agility. It is a breed capable and diverse in all tasks and abilities. The American Bully is a well rounded, reliable, trustworthy, and all around the ideal family companion.
Breed Standard
General Impression
The American Bully should give the impression of great strength for its size. A medium size dog with a muscular body. Agile and graceful in its movement, keenly alive to his surroundings. He should be stocky, not long-legged or racy in outline. His courage is proverbial.
Head
Medium length, deep through, broad skull, very pronounced cheek muscles, distinct stop, and high set ears.
Ears
Natural or Cropped.
Eyes
All colors except albinism. Eye shape would be round to oval, low down in skull and set far apart.
Muzzle
Medium length rounded on upper side or slightly squared to fall away abruptly below eyes. Jaws well defined. Under jaw to be strong and have biting power. Lips close and even, some looseness accepted, but not preferred. Upper teeth to meet tightly outside lower teeth in front or scissor bite accepted. Nose all colors acceptable.
Neck
Heavy, slightly arched, tapering from shoulders to back of skull. No looseness of skin. Medium length.
Shoulders
Strong and muscular with blades wide and sloping.
Back
Fairly short. Slight sloping from withers to rump or straight accepted with gentle short slope at rump to base of tail. Slightly higher rears accepted, but not encouraged.
Body
Well-sprung ribs, deep in rear and all ribs close together. Forelegs set rather wide apart to permit chest development. Chest should be deep and broad.
Tail
Short in comparison to size, low set, tapering to a fine point; not curled. Not docked.
Legs
Front legs- should be straight a slight turning outwards of the feet is accepted but not desired, large or round bones, pastern upright. No resemblance of bend in front.
Hindquarters
well-muscled, let down at hocks, turning neither in nor out.
Feet
of moderate size, well-arched and compact.
Gait
should be springy with drive off the rear.
Coat
Short, close, stiff to the touch, and glossy.
Color
All colors and patterns are permissible expect the color merle.
Size
Height and weight should be in proportion. A height of about 18 to 21 inches at shoulders for the male and 17 to 20 inches for the female is to be considered preferable. There is no particular weight for the breed.
Faults
Faults to be penalized are: kinked or knotted tails, pink eyes and any form of albinism, tail too long or curled, undershot or overshot mouths, severe turned fronts, and aggressive behavior towards animals and humans.

sicuro!?! questa nuova "razza" è venuta fuori da poco... ovviamente è stata creata negli States, dove non si stufano mai di far pastrugli 
mha, sta razza avrà pure io suoi lati positivi, ma non vedo uno scopo preciso per la creazione della stessa, se non quello di market!!

sopra la panca la capra campa sotto la panca la capra crepa.. secondo me hanno difficolta' respiratorie tipo il bulldog ma nn essendo brachicefali nn dovrebbero avere tutti sti problemi.. . -

ho cercato un po'.. e' incocio tra pit ADBA e amstaff.. ma secondo me ce sotto anke lo staffy xk certi esemplari come corpo assomigliano molto allo staffy..

Storia della razza
L'American Bully è stato creato nel tardo 1900. Si pensa discenda da esemplari di American Pit Bull Terrier che non erano conformi allo Standard americano. E' stato fondato un nuovo Club per la razza, l' American Kennel Club Bully.
Questi cani sono stati creati tramite l'accoppiamento di American pit bull terrier (UKC) e American Staffordshire Terrier (AKC).
Caratteristiche della Razza
Mantello e Colore
Il pelo è corto, serrato, duro al tatto e lucido. Sono ammessi tutti i colori.
Altezza e Peso
Altezza
maschi 18-21 pollici (46-53 cm)
femmine 17-20 pollici (43-51 cm)
Non vi è alcun peso particolare per la razza.
Testa
Di media lunghezza, profonda, cranio largo, muscoli delle guance molto pronunciati, stop distinto.
Orecchie
Attaccate alte, possono essere tagliate.
Occhi
Ammessi tutti i colori, tranne l' albinismo.
Rotondi di forma ovale, posizionati in basso al cranio e ben distanziati.
Muso
Di media lunghezza, arrotondato nella parte superiore o leggermente squadrato, scende bruscamente sotto gli occhi.
Mascelle ben definite. Mascella forte e potenza nella presa. Il chiudere le labbra con scioltezza è accettato, ma non preferito.
Denti
Gli incisivi superiori devono incontrare bene i denti inferiori, chiusura a forbice accettata.
Naso
Tutti i colori accettabili.
Collo
Pesante, leggermente arcuato, si assottiglia dalle spalle al cranio. Pelle elastica. Di media lunghezza.
Spalle
Forti e muscolose, larghe e di buona pendenza.
Schiena
Il dorso è piuttosto corto. Inclinato leggermente dal garrese alla groppa, ma accettato anche dritto, con dolce pendio dalla groppa alla base della coda.
Corpo
Costole ben cerchiate e vicine, profonde nella parte posteriore. Zampe anteriori piuttosto distanziate per permettere lo sviluppo del torace. Torace profondo e ampio.
Coda
Corta rispetto alla taglia, attaccata bassa, si assottiglia in punta. Non arricciata nè ancorata.
Gambe
Anteriori
Devono essere diritte. Una lieve rotazione verso l'esterno del piede è accettata ma non desiderato. Di grandi dimensioni con ossa rotonde.
Posteriori
Ben muscoloso, disceso sino al garretto, non deviano né all'interno né all'esterno.
Piedi
Di media grandezza, ben arcuati e compatti.
Andatura >
Elastica, con potente propulsione del posteriore.
Difetti
Code piegate o annodate, occhi rosa e ogni forma di albinismo, coda troppo lunga o arricciata, prognatismo, comportamento aggressivo nei confronti degli animali e di esseri umani.

e che è sta roba....che brutto, scusate la franchezza ma non possiamo pargonarlo al bulldog, il bulldog potrà piacere o meno (a me non piace p.es.) ma almeno ha una storia dietro, condivido il pensiero di staffydea, secondo me 'è solo del gran merato dietro. -

mi avevano offerto di allevare questa nuova "razza" ma sinceramente non me la sono sentita perchè sono troppo purista e non riesco a capire il motivo di creare un cane cosi estremo...però dicono che in america abbia un buon successo...ma si sa gli americani sono fatti a modo loro...
