Affisso inglese di proprietà di Alan & Gwen Small, mi fa piacere parlare un po' di loro, visto che in alcuni pedigree italiani alcuni loro cani sono molto presenti.
Un po' della loro storia:

My involvement with Stafford’s goes back to the 70’s. Some of my early dogs were Dandy Jack of Bethane, 1CC, 1Res CC. - Bethane Barney Bates, Bethane Don Jaun & Bethane Bitter Sweet. They were all good winners in their day & three of them, in turn produced Champions, with “Anna” ( B. Bitter Sweet.) being the Dam of Ch. Maradin Master Mariner, who was B.O.B. at Crufts ‘83’.
The reds came along as a result of mating mahogany brindles together, grandfather / grand daughter, another “Anna” ( B. Red Rosanna ) who was Dam of Int & Du Ch. Bethane Beau Brummell, a Champ Group winner in Holland & K.E.T.S. Trophy winner, and her grandson . Bethane Don Quixote, who did a lot of winning in the 80’s.

Il rosso è arrivato in seguito alla accoppiamento di soggetti mogany brindle, nonno / nipote, un'altra "Anna" (B. Red Rosanna) fu la madre di int & dutch Ch. Bethane Beau Brummell, vincitore di un raggruppamento in Olanda e del trofeo K.E.T.S., e suo nipote. Bethane Don Quixote, ebbe molti risultati negli anni 80.

Both my wife Gwen and myself have been breeding, showing and judging Staffordshire bull terriers for many years now. We are still members of the parent club www.thesbtc.com I joined the Committee in 1979 and held many posts over the years, from Magazine Editor, Ass. Sec/Show Manager to Vice Chairman and completed 30 years service to the Club. Gwen ran the Handling section for many years where new and young members come to practice the skill of exhibiting their dogs. Whether starting out with teaching a puppy and learning to handle them, or older dogs being trained in ring craft. Anyone who is interested in learning how to handle and show their dog can easily find a Staffordshire bull terrier club near to where they live. If you are as keen as we are and love to show your dog there are many different levels that you can enter. Most clubs have Limit Shows, Open Shows, and also hold Championship shows where Challenge Certificates are awarded to the best dog & best bitch. They are held all the year round and are a great day out for both dogs and their owners.

I am very much involved in the world of dogs. I have served on the S.B.T. Clubs Committee since 1979, was their Show Manager for many years & retired as Vice Chairman after 30 years in 2009. I am President of both Sedgley & Gornal Canine Ass, and of Birmingham & District Gundog & Terrier Club, a past committee member of Midland Border Terrier Club and a founder member of the Border Terrier Club of Ireland, also Vice President of the Parson Russell Terrier Club.
On the Judging side, I first judged the breed in 1978 at Tredegar & D.C.S. My first Club Show was for Notts & Derby District S.B.T.C. In 1983 with my first CC appointment being for the East Midlands S.B.T. Club, in 1991, where I judged the dogs with an entry of 194. Since then I have awarded CC’s both in the UK & overseas with appointments in Ireland, Italy, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Australia, South Africa, & U.S.A. I am involved in other Terrier Breeds and awards CC’s in 6 Breeds and Judged my first Terrier Group at Championship level at SWKA in September 2010. I have judged over 30 Terrier Groups & including 5 x B.I.S. at Terrier Societies.
Gwen started judging in 1988 and awards CC’s in both Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Parson Russell’s.
She has judged in South Africa, USA, Ireland (both North & South), Finland and Australia where she judged the SBT Club of Victoria’s Champ. Show with an entry of 274.

Sono molto coinvolto nel mondo della cinofilia. Ho servito nel Comitato dello S.B.T. Club dal 1979, sono stato il loro Show Manager per molti anni e sono andato in pensione come vicepresidente dopo 30 anni, nel 2009. Cucciolata di Bethane Don Jaun

In the 90’s with my wife Gwen, we bred Bethane Dark Secret. She was B.O.B. at St Patrick’s Day Show, Ireland, in ‘94’ and also won 2 Res CC’s. She proved herself to be an outstanding brood bitch, producing to different sires, Ch. Bethane Moonlight Madona, JW. Int & It Ch. Bethane Malaki, who won top terrier in Italy, 2001 and Bethane Morieary, 1CC, 2 Res CC’s.

Negli anni 90 con mia moglie Gwen, allevammo Bethane Dark Secret. Lei fu il B.O.B. al St Patrick’s Day Show, irlanda, nel 94 e vinse inoltre 2 rCC. Lei si è rivelata un fattrice eccezionale, producendo con stalloni diversi, Ch. Bethane Moonlight Madona, JW. Int & It Ch. Bethane Malaki, top terrier in Italia nel 2001 e Bethane Morieary, 1 CC, 2 Res CC.

The last few years I have shown the mother & daughter pair of Bethane Panache & Bethane Galadriel, both gaining their stud No’s with Gala’s son, Bethane Bombadilio also winning well as a youngster, with 5 Best Puppy awards at Champ shows and one of her daughters, Bethane Galas Highland Trip, gaining her crown in Australia.

Negli ultimi anni ho esposto madre e figlia, Bethane Panache & Bethane Galadriel, entrambe hanno ottenuto il loro stud book Number, con il figlio di Gala, Bethane Bombadilio abbiamo ottenuto ottimi risultati da giovane, con 5 Best Puppy in Champ shows e una sua figlia, Bethane Galas Highland Trip, ha ottenuto la sua corona in Australia.

Grazie per tutte le info, appena posso gli do una bella lettura più attenta.
I cani non mi hanno entusiasmato tanto anche a me ma mi piacerebbe sapere se attualmente abbiamo soggetti vicini a questa linea di sangue o direttamente da Bethane.
Piccola news: Alan Small verrà a giudicare in Italia a Novembre.

Mi fa piacere che i coniugi Small dell'allevamento Bethane ritornano in Italia a giudicare.
Spero di poter andare e farle rivedere la mia Pilù (undici anni)che loro l'hanno giudicata giovinetta parecchi anni fa a Genova dove a fine show dichiararono"oggi abbiamo visto una femmina eccezionale"

a leggere dal testo lo giudicherei un affisso non proprio alle prime armi

alcuni soggetti non mi fanno impazzire, altri decisamente interessanti

è vero, soprattutto attraverso Meina (affisso "Mein Staff") possiamo trovare soggetti Bethane tra i parenti dei cani italiani, ma si tratta soprattutto del passato... oggi l' impronta è minore

Noto in tutti i soggetti di cui sono state postate le foto degli anteriori molto aperti, toraci troppo sviluppati in larghezza e poco in profondità (per i miei gusti s'intende), e teste caratterizzate da musi un po' troppo conici . . . . . in buona sostanza sono piuttosto diversi dall'immagine ideale dello staffy che ho in mente.

Comunque è sempre interessantissimo poter leggere informazioni e vedere i cani "prodotti" da allevamenti così rinomati . . . . . grazie Staffie per la gran mole di materiale che ci proponi !!!!!!!!
